Our Team

Jessica Loesel

Jessica completed the University of Vermont’s End of Life Doula Program in 2019. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant and has experience as an in-home caregiver and hospice volunteer.

Jessica was raised close to the land and is a long time yoga practitioner. She has been comfortable with the topic of death since childhood and has extensive personal experience with loss and grief.

Jessica serves on the board of the Green Burial Council and Chicago Death Doula Collective. She is also a member of National Home Funeral Alliance and National End of Life Doula Alliance. Lastly, she is involved with a project bringing pricing transparency to the funeral industry through the Funeral Consumer Alliance.

Jennifer Ostermeier

Jennifer completed end of life specialist training in September of 2019 and has been a practicing doula since 2020 when she founded End of Life Chicago with Jessica. Her experience sitting vigil with dying friends, family and clients has increased her willingness to have difficult conversations.

Jennifer's interest in death and dying began at a young age. She is a storyteller who is inspired by how life affirming facing death can be.
